Water infrastructure that follows your programme
Plots stand finished and unserviced while a connection date sits in somebody else’s queue. Self-lay puts the water network back on your build programme — designed, installed, certified and adopted by one accredited contractor.
Planning a development?Send us your site layout or utility drawings and we will review the water requirements with you.
The sector
The water connection is rarely hard. The waiting is.
On most schemes the on-site water network is not technically demanding. What costs money is the queue: waiting for the incumbent to design it, waiting again for them to programme it, and watching completed plots sit unserviced because one connection has not happened.
As an accredited Self-Lay Provider we install that network to the standard the adopting company will adopt, coordinate the design through to approval, manage the application and the inspections, and hand over an asset with the records adoption actually requires. The work happens when your build needs it.
We have delivered developer-led schemes alongside NAV operators including Albion Water, and the same team handles the mains, the ducting and the connections rather than three subcontractors and a coordination meeting.
What you need from us
Four things developments ask for.
Most schemes need the first of these. Which of the others apply depends on the site, and we will tell you plainly if one does not.
- 01The network is on your critical path
Self-Lay & NAV
Design, installation, application and adoption managed end to end, so the network is built to your programme rather than the incumbent’s workload.Accredited Self-Lay ProviderNAV applications managedAdopted with full recordsRead more - 02The site needs distribution, not just a connection
Water Mains
Distribution mains across the development, mains and service connections up to and above 355mm, and live main tapping where the existing network cannot be shut down.Accredited to 355mm and aboveUnder-pressure drillingTested and certifiedRead more - 03Several services share the same route
Utility Ducting
Coordinated multi-utility trenching to Street Works UK guidance, so a site is opened once rather than three times by three contractors. One trench, several servicesRoad crossings handledProved and ropedRead more - 04A planning condition needs satisfying

Why Cascade
One accountable contractor, from feasibility to adoption.
Developer water schemes fail in the gaps between designer, groundworker and certifier. Here they are the same organisation.
- 01
Accredited Self-Lay Provider
LRQA WIRS accredited, independently assessed, to undertake eligible self-lay and contestable works within our accredited scope — so the network is built to be adopted.
- 02
Experience with NAV operators
We have delivered schemes working with NAV operators including Albion Water, so the NAV route is a process we have been through rather than one we have read about.
- 03
Pre-qualified before the tender lands
SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe, Acclaim, Constructionline Gold and Achilles UVDB Silver Plus — getting us onto a site is not a three-week exercise.
- 04
Records produced as we go
As-built drawings, pressure test results and sampling certificates compiled during the work. Adoption is refused for missing paperwork more often than for defective pipework.
- 05
Phasing designed in, not retrofitted
Valve positions and temporary supply arrangements decided at design stage, so plots can be released as they complete rather than all at the end.
Development enquiry
Send the site plan and the dates you need water by.
A layout and a programme are enough for us to tell you whether self-lay or NAV is the better route, and whether the dates you have in mind are realistic.
