The sector

You are assessing capability, not buying a service.

A water company or NAV operator engaging a contractor is answering a narrower question than most clients: can this organisation work on our network, to our specification, and produce the evidence at the end without us managing it?

Cascade holds LRQA WIRS accreditation — the Water Industry Registration Scheme, independently assessed — and is WIRS-accredited to undertake eligible self-lay and contestable works within our accredited scope. Operatives working on potable systems hold water industry hygiene cards, and we are accredited for mains and service connections up to and above 355mm.

Testing, chlorination, bacteriological sampling and certification are carried out in-house as part of the work, so an asset arrives with its records rather than with a note promising them later.

Why Cascade

The things an accreditation manager checks.

  1. 01

    LRQA WIRS accredited

The Water Industry Registration Scheme is independently assessed. We are WIRS-accredited to undertake eligible self-lay and contestable works within our accredited scope.

  2. 02

    Hygiene handled as competence

Operatives working on potable systems hold water industry hygiene cards, and materials used carry approval for contact with drinking water.

  3. 03

    Commissioning is not subcontracted

Testing, chlorination, sampling and certification are carried out in-house, so a failed test is corrected on the same visit rather than written up and handed back.

  4. 04

    Utility pre-qualification in place

Achilles UVDB Silver Plus, Achilles Network membership, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe, Acclaim and Constructionline Gold.

  5. 05

    Thirty years on water infrastructure

Three decades of mains and service work across London, Hertfordshire and the surrounding counties — including on live networks.
